Records and my appearance in a magazine ad.
posted June 3, 2009

I released two free download records recently.

Two Dollar Wine is a Whisky Rebellion record.
It was recorded live, mostly at Southpaw.

Rocketships & Jars of Beer is an Alex Battles record.
It was recorded at Almira Studios.

Also, if you were wondering how I ended up in Everday
with Rachael Ray (see below) last year I played the
Big Apple BBQ. They were nice enough to put me in the
magazine this year.

Hooray!

Hello my friends, hello.
posted February 13, 2009

It's been a good year for the Whisky Rebellion. The
guys are really sounding better than ever. I'll be
taking March off to finish mixing the recordings we've
been making over the past year. Expect a release sometime
this summer.

Also, I think there are about 50 tickets left for the Cash
Bash, so get one if you haven't already.

If you become a fan of The Whisky Rebellion on Facebook,
you'll get to hear my new songs as I write them. I'm not
really sure that's an enticement, but I thought I'd
let you know.

The next Whisky Rebellion show is April 15 at Rodeo Bar.

Spring brings fun things.

We've got a couple of cool shows coming up in the
next two months. First, we're playing with alt-country
heroes Blue Mountain and our friends Andy Friedman and
Kara Suzanne at Luna Lounge. This show will be on May
10. Here is a picture of Blue Mountain.

uple of weeks it's been! First we had
a sold out Johnny Cash 76th Birthday Bash. Thanks to
our great crowd for making the party swing, to The
Village Voice
, NY Sun, and The New Yorker for great
coverage, and to nicolasix for shooting the video that
summed it all up better than I ever could.

Next, I was asked to open for one of my heroes. On March 31
I'll be playing Maxwell's with the one and only and only
Junior Brown. Come on out for a real good party!

And yesterday, I found out the Johnny Cash Birthday Bash
was listed in the NY Magazine's approval matrix.

Brilliant and lowbrow, just like I always wanted.

What a week!

Thank you, Nathan Gudger.

I was kinda disappointed that none of the local rags reviewed
the Brooklyn Country Music Festival. Then one Nathan Gudger
came along and made my day. Click the pic.

Thank you, Nathan Gudger. Thank you.
