This CD was recorded on February 24, 2007 in Brooklyn, at the time of festivities for the 75th birthday of Johnny Cash. At the end of the evening, Alex and his group had exhausted their repertory of Cash titles, also drew from their repertory, which make up these 6 titles (only, alas). Their influences are not disguised influences. Pennsylvania is a solid good country rock'n'roll. Jesus Wore Flip Flops points out much My Bucket's Got a Hole In It. Half of What I Need is enough boom-chicka-boom. Old Blue Pickup makes I Got Stripes very. Wednesdays  & Fridays reminds me of Dirty Eggsucking Dog. Hong Kong Collision, as for him, evokes me Surfin' Bird of Trashmen. Only very good, therefore.
